On the road to Princess Sofia Trophy

Most of Olympic Series sailors were at Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta (March 10-13) for a Test event in preparation to major Princess Sofia Trophy (April 2-9).

Will it ever stop for Martine Grael (SSL Women World n°2) and Kahena Kunze? Brazilian 49er FX pair made another great impression in Mallorca after winning in Portugal two weeks ago. They won by a 16-point lead over Italian duo Jana Germani/ Giorgia Bertuzzi.

SSL Spanish n°1 Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman had a more confortable victory in 470. The Spanish duo won by 17 points (over 9 races) in front of Austrian Olympian Lara Vadlau/ Lukas Maehr (SSL Austria n°27) and Italy's Marco Groadoni/ Alessandra Dubbini.

In ILCA6 (Women Laser Radial), Vasileia Karachaliou, 2021 European 3rd, took over two Dutch sailors: Mirthe Akkerman and 2021 European 2nd Maxime Jonker (SSL Netherlands n°8).

It was a tight Test Event in ILCA7 (Men Laser) as British Matt Beckett won by only 2 points over Lorenzo Chiavirani (SSL Italy n°8) and Wannes Van Laer (SSL Belgium n°3).

It was also very tight in 49er series. The 8th and final race gave the extra point to Dominik Buksak (SSL Poland n°7) / Szymon Wierzbicki (SSL Poland Crew n°4) over Frederik Rask (SSL Denmark n°9) / Jakob Precht Jensen (SSL Denmark Crew n°2).

Finally in Nacra17, Natacha Violet Saouma-Pedersen (SSL Denmark n°29)/ Mathias Bruun Borreskov (SSL Denmark n°25) won over returning France's Billy Besson. The 4-time Nacra17 World Champion wins the final race to grab 2nd place in front of Swedish Emil Järudd/ Hanna Jonsson.
