Fresh victory for Martine Grael and smooth come-backs for Emma Plasschaert and JB Bernaz

What a start for the 2022 season! Winter is not yet finished in Northern Hemisphere but two regattas kicked off the Sailing season with great spirit at 4th Portugal Grand Prix (Vilamoura, Portugal) and Lanzarote International Regatta (Spain).

In Canary Islands, Olympic Champs Brazil 49erFX pair Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze (SSL Crew n°3) just dominated from tips to toes the fleet. With this result, Martine, actual SSL World Women n°2, keeps the pressure on SSL World Women n°1 Anne-Marie Rindom, just 1600 points ahead after this race.

In Portugal, ILCA 6 World Champion Belgian Emma Plasschaert (SSL World Women n°5) finished 2nd after finishing 18th in the last race. France's Marie Bolou (SSL Global n°525) signs one of her best performances in winning in Vilamoura. She finished 11th at Tokyo Olympics.

In ILCA 7, Norwegian Hermann Tomasgaard (SSL n°22) snapped victory by just 2 points at Lanzarote International Regatta. France's Jean-Baptiste Bernaz (SSL France n°1) finished 4th at his first race since Tokyo 2021. His French counterparts, Tim Mourniac and Lou Berthomieu (SSL Women Crew n°35), won with a confortable lead (+14) the Nacra17 fleet in Vilamoura.
