Emirates Team New Zealand has claimed victory in the legendary America’s Cup regatta for the fifth time. On Saturday, October 19th, the New Zealanders concluded the competition in Barcelona in grand style, defeating INEOS Britannia with a score of 7:2.

Considered the oldest, most important, and most prestigious regatta in the world, the America’s Cup has come to an end, bringing weeks of great excitement to a close.
Six teams started in the Louis Vuitton Cup regatta: Emirates Team New Zealand, INEOS Britannia, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, NYYC American Magic, Alinghi Red Bull Racing, and Orient Express Racing Team.
After the qualifying rounds, the last crew and the impressive the Kiwi team who had a guaranteed spot in the America’s Cup as the defending champions, left the competition. In the semifinals, the Italians eliminated the Americans, and the British ousted the Swiss. In the final, INEOS Britannia defeated Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team with a score of 7:4.
Two weeks ago, on Saturday, October 12th, the 37th America’s Cup competition commenced. Like the qualifying regattas, it was held in Barcelona, and the competition continued until a team secured seven victories. The initial races showcased the dominance of the Kiwi, with Peter Burling and Nathan Outteridge at the helm, although the fifth and sixth races demonstrated that the British could also put up a good fight. Entering Saturday’s races, Emirates Team New Zealand had a 6:2 lead and capitalized on their chance for success in the first race.
Emirates Team New Zealand won the America’s Cup for the third consecutive time and the fifth time overall.
