World Sailing announced the finalists for the year’s male and female Rolex World Sailor of the Year, male and female Young World Sailor of the Year, 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award, World Sailing Technology Award, and Team of the Year.
SSL sailors are shortlisted for Male and Female Sailors. Among others is Peter Burling, who has been SSL World n°1. Since the SSL ranking existed (2013), no sailor has dominated the International Sailor League for so long. On the list, we also can find gold medalists from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Diego Boring & Florian Trittel (Spain, 49er), Ruggero Tita (Italy, Nacra 17), and Matt Wearn (Australia, ILCA 7).
First on the Female nominated list are Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz from the Netherlands. Olympic Gold medalist from Paris 2024, Odile van Aanholt took part in SSL training in Grandson and now Odile is in first place in the Women's SSL Ranking! On the finalists list couldn’t have missed Marit Bouwmeester four-time Olympic medalist.
