From June 27th to July 3rd, 26 different nations gathered in the bay of Oran in Algeria to compete in the sailing events of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games. France distinguished itself as one of the strongest nations with 3 Gold Medals including ILCA7's World Champion Jean-Baptiste Bernaz's and Marie Barrue's in ILCA 6.
Jean-Baptiste Bernaz, Gold Medalist: "The week went really well, the Algerians were very warm and we had great sailing conditions. I was solid throughout the competition. My direct competitors made a lot of mistakes while I was more consistent. Yesterday I was 15 points ahead, which allowed me to miss the last race, while winning the gold medal. It is true that since my World champion titla a few weeks ago, it is only pleasure. It surely freed me from a lot of pressure that I put on myself. I express myself without restraint, I take full advantage of these moments!"
