"The 2022 Asian Sailing Championships is one of a few preperatory games leading up to the Asian Games. This is my 6th Asian Sailing Championship and my 5th medal at the competition. In terms of results it could be better but I'm happy with how I sailed especially in medium to strong conditions. So far preperations for the Asian Games in September are going well and I will try to improve in a few areas and hopefully get to do more races before then."

In ILCA 6 (Women's Laser Radial), Malaysia SSL n°1 and SSL Team Malaysia sailor Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif finished with the Gold medal as India SSL n°3 Nethra Kumanan grabs Silver medal.

Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif explains to SSL how important this result is for the preparation of next Asian Games:

"This is my 3rd Asian Sailing Championships and my first Gold Medal at the event. This September I will be doing my second Asian Games. I am happy with my result, one must believe in oneself once you start doing something and always remember why you are doing it."
